Mch, con- ductor on Canada Atlantic railway, of a daughter. beautiful day, and to say that the picnic was a success is describing a great thing by little words, for the plan of the picnic planned and carried out is indeed worthy of the most elaborate admiration. About two o’clock nothing could be heard save the hum of well-ï¬lled buggies and the roll of heavy-laden waggons wending their way to the picnic grounds, which were situated near Davis lake and surrounding what is known as “Camp- bell’s Camp." During the afternoon games were played, and early in the evening an excellent program of foreign and home talent was rendered, Mr. Wilson of Kinmouut acting as chair- man. And the teacher, Miss Mc- Elwain, deserves great credit for the way in which she had her pupils train- ed, for by the able way in which they took their parts, we must confess that it must have taken a great deal of patience and training. After this all and that implies a great many for their visitors came from as far west as Oakwood, gathered around the tables which seemed to groan under the weight of "good things.†After supper games were again resumed by tlu‘ children, while the older people found their way to the “camp†where they danced to their heart’s content. And “the picnic of the season†ended by everybody declaring that they had a time that day long to be remembered. SOANES --At Oakwood, on Sept. 25th, the wife of Mr. E. S. Soanes of a son.
