A fair sized crowd gathered at the rink last night to witness the race between M. M. McLean, (f Orillia, and Ollvtr H. Dusty, cf Uxbrldge. The race was skated in two mile heats, best two out of three. The contestants started at opposite sides of the rink, and the one reaching his post first was declared winner of the heat. While waiting for the call of time Dusty, in speeding around the rink, fell and hurt himself, and this unfortunate accident was in agreat measure the cause of the nosr showing made by him in the race. McLeanisa good fast skater, he uses a strong steady stroke, and possesses a good quantity of staying power, which was shown by his being almost as fresh after the race as he was before it began.
