Lee and Adair went as far as Winnipe , where they were met by Mr. Edgar Mc auchlin, son of deceased ...... The deceased lady and her husband visited this place during the winter of 1896, when the latter was suddenly called away and was buried in the cemetery here. His companion now reposes beside him. They saw the return of the anniversary of their marriage in July 1845, in 1895. A. A. MoLanchlin was one of this original trustees of the cemetery grounds under a conveyance from the late J. 3. Pearson, former owner of the farm of the late John Dillmau, so the husband and wife now lie together in the cemetery which the husband was instrumental in procuring. Mrs. McLauchlin was born in the township of Uxbridge, and when four years of age ‘came with her father’s family in 1833 to reside where the residence of W. H. Mc~ Lauchlin now stands ; from whence she was removed to her last resting place. The deceased was a loving and affectionate wife and mother, and for many years a devoted christian and member of the Methodist church, fulfilling all the duties of life, and leaves very deeply sorrowiug friends and relatives. For 26 years they have resided in this vil- lage. and have seen its growth and changes in every way. They have ever been identified with any and every object connected with the educational. social or religious movements in this place. Dr. Vrooman first started the practice of medicine here. and has singularly held his own without opposition all this time. Being very successful in his profession. he has beneath him a good financial basis. Few men have commanded the general admiration and respect always accorded to him. From the oldest man to the very youngest toddler, all admire and love Dr. Vrooman. He is especially the children's triend, and in this he was peculiarly fitted for his position as Sunday school superin- tendent. This office he has held for 6 years, and under his able in meat the school has made unpreceden Progress. He also acted as recording steward of the quarterly board of the Methodist church tor the same length of time, and this duty i he has discharged with exceptional ability.
