Kiilaby. tenant cf W. bf. 19, con. 7. ad- dressed the council. saying he had received no schedule of assessment for said land, and that the court of revision was past before he ascertained the assessment. He and his neighbors cansidered said assess- ment at least .5500 too high, and as the fault was not his he trusted that justice would be done him by the council. The council said the decision ct.the court of revision must now remain unchanged, and assured Mr. Kiilaby that the assessor had assessed said land to the owners before it was leased to him, which accounted for ‘his not getting the schedule, but from the evidence adduced as to the present condi- tion of the farm the council would make a small rebate at the close of the year. A. Robertson and J no. Brown called the attention of the council to the 3:d qr. line, 7th com, and the 63h con. line at lot 17, saying that some gravel was much needed to ï¬ll ruts and make wheeling easier. The council said they would consider the claims, but were opposed to s ecial nts except in extreme cases. iex. nrkc charged John O'Connor, pathmaster of Best No. 70,with refusing to credit him for statute labor done. O‘Connor, feeling the dignity and grave responsibilit of his ofï¬ce, said Mr. Burke hadn’t one the work as directed by him, and he was doubtful whether Burke had delivered a certain load of gravel. While the council complimented O‘Connor on his strict ad- herence to the by-law, they had no reason to doubt Burke’s veracity, and asked him to show O’Connor where the gravel was placed. The aï¬'air was ludicrous through- out, as no bitterness was manifested. The council havingziearned that the pathmas- :ter of Beat 0. 84 had done statute labor outside the limits of his best, passed the following resolution: Moved by Mr. Cur- rins, seconded by Mr. Hutton, that this council disapprove of the action of the pathmaster of Read Best No. 3%, in doing , “4.11. n..- “Mn-u n6 gala [Eonespoï¬déllce of Tm: Pounl HAavzsnxa â€".':Ir.
