They were amongst the first settlers of the township. Mr. Curtis came into Ops township in 1874 and purchased the fine ZOO-acre farm, lot 12 in 3rd can. a short distance south-west of Lindsay. and not far from the river. Here he carried on farming successfully. The funeral on Sunday last was one of the largest ever seen in the township. Inter- ment took place at Riverside cemetery. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Campbell of the Cambridge-stMethodist church. of which denomination the deceased was an earnest member.
