Mr. Campbell then in a. few well chosen re- marks asked for subscriptions, which flawed in so freely that at the close of this part of the meeting all the indebtedness . in connection with the building operations was provided for. The callrctions on Sun day amounted to over $48, the receipts from the sale of tickets for the dinner netted $ :57, these amounts, together with the subscriptions, totalled up the amount to over $800. The total cost of the build- ing is $2 700. Singir g and music enlivened the meeting. Miss Williamson,‘ot Ozne- m‘e, sang a sale. A Lindsay quartette, comprising Micszs Winters and Walter, and Messrs. Rebeca and Lyons, were much in demand. Miss Fee and Mr. Sam McGiil sang a duet. Besides the ministers already mentioned, the following rev. gen- iemen were present: Mr. Oswald, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Harzison. Those on whom has fallen the burden of constructing a new church certainly deserve great credit for the success their efforts have made possxhle. The old church was destroyed by ï¬re, and as it was uninsured the burden of rebuilding seemed at one time almost insurmountable. The formal dedicatory services brought the meeting to a close. Fromthe Guelph lercery. There is perhaps no busines or occupa- tion that any man could follow that is more trying to the healthâ€"particuia‘ly in the winterâ€"than that of moulding. A workman leaves the shop with his clothes ringing wet from perspiration, and a cold wind chills him to the murmur, making him 'a ready mark for lumbago, sciatica and kindred troubles. A moul-. der requires to be a man ot more than ordinary strength, and to continue at his work must always be in good health, for a moulding shop is no place formin- valid. Sciatica is by no means an un- common afliiction for men of this craft, and once the dread disease has lsnced a victim he seldom shakes himself free from it again. In fact some people de- clare that itis incurabla, but that it is not we are able to testify by a personal interview with one once afflicted with the trouble, but who is now in perfect health, thanks to his timely use of the famous remedy. There are few workmen better . known in Guelph than Chas. W. Wal- dren. perhaps better known ss “Charley Waldren," for he has lived in Guelph al- most continuously since he was three years of age, and hc has now passed the 38.11 mile post. Mr. Waldren is a moulder, and has worked at the, business for 22 years : and Lbesides, being noted as a steady workman, he is a man whose veracity is unquestioned. It is a well- known fact here that Mr. Waldren had to quit work in January, 1896, on account of a severe attack of sciatica, and for eleven weeks was unable to do a tap. Knowing that he was again at works Mercury reporter called at his residence one evening to learn the exact facts of the case. Mr. deren, when spoken to on the subiect, replied quite freely, and had no hesitation in crediting Dr. Williams' Pink Pills with his remarkable recovery. “I am not one of those people who are seeking newspaper notoriety, said Mr. Waldren, “neither have I been snatched from death's door, but from the day when I quite work, until March 30th. when I started again, I was conï¬ned to the house with sciatic -. It located in my hip and would shoot down myleg to my foot and was very painful. I could not move about the house without the aid of a cane, and then onlv with great pain. I was totally useless as far as doing my work was concerned, was never free from pain, and it made me' feel very much depressed, for beyond that I felt strong and anxious to be about.
