I am always pleased to give them such information as I have acquired from actual experience and information. In order the more effectually to do this I have from time to time brought home small samples of grain to show the people what the land can produce. The present season. on returning from my autumnal visit, I brought a small quantity of spring wheat and o: two-row ed barley raised on one of my isrms by David Hay. formerly of Vernlsm. I have shown the samples to many of our farmers, and so for every one has said that both samples are better than the general run of grain raised around the Lindsay district, and everyone said they had not seen any wheat to equal the earn- pleI showed them. I know that people are anxious to see for themselvue. and I have for that reason placed s. small but fair sample in Mr. James Keith’s store, where anyone may call and see it any day; and ii any one thinks he has a good sample of wheat I wish he would bring it along and compare it with mica.
