The morn- ing was cloudy and overcast, but im- rnediately before the (lueen started there wasalmrst of sunshine, and it was bright and cheerful for the rest of the day. The heat was rather unusual, and the ambulances were buszly em- ployed in carrying inindreds to their homes and hospitals who were pros- trated. There were several shght accidents. and a rather serious one in which Lord Howe was the sufferer. He was riding fifty yards in rear of her Majesty’s car- riage when his horse reared and he was fllrown heavny to the ground. He was taken to Guy’s llOSpital, where it was found he had concussion of the brain. Millions are in the streets to-night viewing: the illuminatious and singing patriotic songs. On Friday last the members of the Epworth League of the Meth- odist Church spent a very profit- able and enjoyable evening, in honor of their worthy and es- teemed pastor and family. After the regular service was concluded, the President read and presented to Mr. and Mrs. Hill an appiOpri- ate address. expressing their ap- preciation of their work among us, and the deep regret and sorrow felt by the severing of their con- nection with us. Mr. Hill madea short and feeling reply, taking none of the glory to themselves. but attributing all to the Master, in whose service they Were faith- fully endeavor-in;r to work. The l nice-ting was then thrown open to enjoy the refreshments whlch had lheen provided for the occasion. I Before the meeting was closed, a number of the members made a few remarks regarding Mr. Hill‘s earnest aifi faithful labor in the League, and Mrs. Hill's unceasing interest in the Sabbath School. The meeting was then closed by singing “ God Be \Vith You 'l‘ill \Ve Meet Again." All felt that in losingr Mr. and Mrs. l-lill, they lose true and worthy friends, yet, what to us is ioss. is to others gain. The united prayer of our League is, that God's Spirit may surround and uplift them wherever thvy may go, and that at last when the crowns are given out, their's may be full of stars.
