Our own local~ girl, Helen Wright, who belongs to this club, performed with them and was right up there with the rest of the skaters as far as ability on the blades was concerned. After an hour of this splendid show, the crowd was treated to a fine exhibition hockey match between the local E-.P.L. team and Stoney"s Junior Petes from l’eterb-orouszh. -' Between Heaven and Hell' The local boys, short their scoring are Ted McDowell, were beaten 6 to 1, but put up a fine game against the more ex- perieneed visitors, and if good luck around the nets had fav- oured them instead of the visi- tors there may have been a dif- ferent result. Both goalies ex- celled themselves, as close in and long-shots were again and again turned away empty handed by both net minders, hmvever, you cannot stop them all, and after a scoreless first period the Stoney’s were able to count '2 in the‘seeon'd go, giving them a good advantage in starting the third period, in which they scored 4 to our 1, which gave the visitors the bis- cuit by 6 to 1. A very large number turned out to see the two worthy ex- hibitions. This game proved without question that fans who have not been attending the E.P.L. games are the ones who are missing out, as the quality of h'ockey played is high class and fast. The pros. and modern coaches of National League tactics style being in evidence, as passing the puck hat become much more common than in past years. "FIRST TRAVELLING SALESLADY” With Ginger.
