Warm BEAUTIFUL MILLBROOK,ONTARIO, CANADA, THURSDAY OCTOBER 15, 1959 CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PLANS PARADE AGAIN A meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was held in the Council Chambers, Tuesday‘evening, September 29th. Members present were: Vice-Pres. Cord Trick, Treasurer Earl Liesmer, Secretary G. Dawe, Mr. D. R. Fowler, Mr. Cecil Peebles,,J. T. Crowley. Mr. J. R. Hill, who has recently purchased the Red 6: White store was a guest._ A motion‘was made by Mr. E. Liesmer, seconded by D. Fowler that the Segretary write letters of wel- come to the new residents of Millb'i'bok. The purpose of the meeting was to begin preparations for the Santa Claus Parade. The parade is to be held December 12th, 1959 at 2 pm. Mr. Fowler was chosen to look after the hiring of bands. Treasurer of the Parade Funds, E. Liesmer. Ninety mothers and daughters attended the banquet together with their guests of the evening, Rev. and Mrs. Palfrey, Rev. and Mrs. Snowden, Rev. and Mrs. Graham, Mrs. Perry, Division Com- missioner, Mrs. Banister, a Port Hope Guider, Mrs. Kent and Mrs. Lee, Brown and Tawny Owl from Cavan and Mrs. Neave, District Commissioner. The Rev. Palfrey said Grace and Mrs. Neave gave the toast to the Queen. Thanks to the generosity and help of the mothers and Local Association, an excellent banquet was served and very much enjoyed by everybody. Mrs. Perry and the Rev. Palfrey spoke on the aims of Guiding and Judy Reid was presented with a gift by Mrs. Perry in appreciation of her work at the Girl Guide summer camp.
