He had received $30.72, and paid cut $29.63, leaving a balance of $1.09 in favor of the municipality. Mr. Brooks explained that he over- run his. commission about $45, and would like a special for that amount. While this was now 3a county bridge, recent legislation al- lowed the two municipalities to agree as to cost of maintenance. Mr. Wat- son proposed that if Verulam would assume the maintenance of the ap- proaches or solid structure, the coun- ty would build a new bridge with ce- ment abutments and assume cost of the structural portion for all time. ' A committee of the County Coun- Cil, Dr. Mason, Warden, J. R. McNeil- lie Clerk. T. Watson, Taylor Parkin, who had been met by Mr. Tiers, ad- dressed the Council as to an amicable settlement of the proportion of cost of maintenance re Emily Creek bridge, and also the costs already incurred by the township. John J. Thurston wished to know if the Council would fence the, gravel pit they had from him, or convey it back to him. On motion of Green and ’Brooks, it was decided to trans- fer the pit to Mr. Thurston, provided he agreed to fence theflpit and sold gravel to the municipality at same rate as charged for it at other parts of the township. Council met on Monday in Bobcay- geon, and in‘ the temporary absence of the Reeve, Mr. W. Hetherington, was moved to the chair. The usual- batch of correspondence was presented.
