A visitor to the town, Mr. Silas Ray, who found it necessary to take treatment in the Hospital, made a donation of $20.00, a gift much ap- prciated. ' The usual liberal grants were made by the County of Victoria and the Town of Lindsay. The number of patients under treat- ment for the year was 232. The expen- ture for maintenance was $8,284.91. which, divided by 5,195, the total number of days’ stay of patients shows the cost per patient per day to be $1.59. The cost per day in the prev1ous. year was $1.45, and the av- erage for six years was $1.56. A classiï¬cation of the patients by wards and days is as follows: Free, 743; paying 50 cents per day, 2,029, total, 2,772; semi-private, 2,076; private, 347; ttal days, 5,195. By wards the receipts by the Secre- tary-Treasurer from patients were as follows: Public wards, 2,011 days, $1,005,58; semi-private wards, 2,099 days, $2,- 099,50; private wards, 352 days. $616,00; total, 4,462 days, $3,721,08- The graduation of nurses took place on June 9th. The ceremonies were held in the Academy of Music, and the event attracted much interest. Addresses were given by the resident clergymen, by Dr, F, A, Blanchard, re- presenting the medical staff and by Dr. G. A.
