After the programme the baskets were auctioned off by Mr, Wm. Hay. Many of these were beautifully dec- orated, and called for handsome sums in return. When the newly-made comples had spent an hour or so in becoming acquainted and reachzng the bottom of the baskets, the people dispersed, all feeling the better of the pleasant evening spent in the 01d schcol. Although the concert was mterming- led with many gramaphone selections which were very amusing, “Why We did not Marry," a dialogue which was acted by seven couples was one of the most enjoyable parts of the concert. Mrs. Cathro of Lindsay sang a couple of pleasant songs quite to the liking of the audience. One of the chief entertainers of the evening was an ex-teacher, Miss G. Thornbury, of Lindsay, who favoured the audicnee vim several ,songs and recitations. M155 Thompson, of the L. C. I. who seems to be gifted with reciting, also added iargcly to the success of the evening. Several {mo instrumentals were ren- dered by the Misses M. Endicott and H. Carew; Mrs. P.
