JUNE 7 1912 The June meeting of the Women's Institute was held at.the home of Mrs. J. F. Dix, on Tuesday, June 4th. This being the annual picnic, i the meeting was to have been on the 2 spacious lawn under the shade of {the spruce and maples, but on acâ€" ,count of the previous rains it was ' thought better to have it indoors. iThe 'day being bright, the ladies I turned out in large numbers. and the: ‘house was packed to the doors. I l l 6 canâ€"q I There was a splendid program. Two delegates were present from the de- partment and gave extra fine ad- . dresses. Miss McKenzie’s talk was on disinfecting in the home and ban- daging. She demonstrated on ankle bandaging and both of these were practical, as so many get sprained ankles or wrists in their work, and it is well to know how to relieve the sud-erer, and also to learn the best and easiest way of disinfecting. The next speaker, Miss Robson, of Ilder- ton, gave a talk on economics of the country girl and also a very pointed talk on the valuaand care I of the human body; and its care and iprotection. She impressed all with i the fact that the highest st-andasd of 7 womanhood and manhood was only attained by being socially connected in their happy homes, making them the throne of the realm.
