Mrs. Duke, whose maiden name was Turner. was born in Colo Bill, Dcvonshire, England, in 1826. She came to Canada in 18w and settled in- Port Hope, where she was married to Mr. Richard Dorks in 18.53. With her husband she came to Lindsay, where they resided until 1865, when they moved to the fine farm on the bank of the Scugog, north of Lindsay, so well-known to those who pass up and. down the river by boat. A year ago Mr. and Mrs. 1hrke came. to Lindsay with the object of spending their declin'ngv years in this place. A sorrowing husband. three sons and two daughters, survwe her. all of whom have the deep sympathy of their many friends in their sad bereavement.
