Adams, Robert J. and Adams, Ella M. (née Stephenson) (Married)
- Full Text
A very nice wedding was held in the Episcopal church on Wednesday evening, the contracting parties being Miss Ella, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Stephenson, and Robert Adams, only son of Wm. Adams, Esq., Reeve of the Township of Emily. The hour announced was 6:30 p.m., and long before this the church was filled with many of our prominent citizens, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The bride looked charming in her beautiful bridal costume, as did also her sister, Miss Daisy, teacher, Lindsay. The bride was given away by her father, whilst Miss Edith Curray played the Mendelssohn wedding march. The late pastor, Rev. Mr. McCann, conducted the marriage ceremony. The bride and groom were the recipients of a beautiful lot of costly and and elegant presents, amongst which was a marble clock presented by the choir, of which as organist she has filled the position for a number of years. The guests consisted of the immediate friends. Sergt. Robt. Johnston, church warden, acted as usher with his usual ability and dignity.
A number of our bachelors are wondering whose turn next, to relieve their (sorrow) before witnessing any more marriage ceremonies.
