DISASTROUS FIRE.--About 10 o'clock on the morning of Saturday last an alarm of fire was raised in the village, and the inhabitants, springing from their beds, hurriedly dressed themselves and rushed out of their houses to find Mr. D. McIntyre's hotel on the main street wrapped in flames. Being a frame building it was soon burnt to the ground, and almost the whole of its contents were also destroyed, Mrs. McIntyre losing all her clothing, except what little she had time to put on, and the boarders runnings out in anything but full suits, some having to leave their hats, some their boots and others their coats in order to save their far more precious lives. The hotel was owned by Mr. E. D. Orde, of Lindsay, but whether he had it insured or not I cannot say. Mr. McIntyre fortunately had an insurance of $1,000 on his stock of liquors, furniture and other valuables. The cause of the fire is not known.
