ACCIDENTS.--A son of Mr. O. Taylor, Omemee, aged 13 years, lost the first and fourth fingers of the left hand on Sunday last between the cogs of the wheels of a cutting machine, in the attempt to stop the motion while his brother was turning the crank for amusement. Dr. Cornwall's surgical ingenuity may, it is thought, save the fingers alluded to, but if so it will be a marvel. While Mr. Wm. Redmond was working at the emery wheel in Evans' foundry on Monday, a splinter of iron lodged in the pupil of his eye, causing him great inconvenience and pain till it was removed by Dr. Norris, Wednesday evening.--Herald
