Baker, C. L.

BUSINESS CHANGE.--Our readers generally will be pleased to learn that Mr. C. L. Baker has returned from the west, and that he has bought back his old business from Mr. Archibald Campbell. The change was completed yesterday and Mr. Baker is now in possession. Some unpleasant rumors have been in circulation during the past few days regarding the changes that have taken place in Mr. Baker's business here, and that the sale to Mr. Cambell was a sham. We happen to know the facts, and if the climate of the far west had agreed with Mr. Baker, Lindsay would have lost an energetic and straightforward business man. More than that, we do not believe that either Mr. Campbell or Mr. Baker would be a party to any such transaction. Mr. Baker was not compelled to sell out and leave Lindsay, and what he could gain by any such action. Mr. Baker will do as large a business as ever.--Warder.
