THORAH AND BROCK.
Special to The Warder.
WEDDING BELLS.-We again, with
great pleasure, record one of those most
pleasing events which takes, or should
take place in the lifetime of every
individual, i.e. the union of hearts and
hands for the remainder of Life's journey.
Unhappy and most miserable must be
the condition of the person who tries to
sail alone over the long and drearisome
voyage of life, with its billows of dis-
content and trouble. Receiving the
bonds of matrimony in sincerity should
be the happiest event bestowed upon man
to enjoy, and those who witnessed the
occasion of which this is a brief account,
will agree that such was the case in the
marriage on Feb. 3rd., of Mr. George
Burgess of Thorah, to Miss Hannah
Lambert of Brock. At 6 p.m., the
guests, to the number of fifty, were
assembled at the residence of the bride's
father and at 6 20 the ceremony was
solemnized by the Rev. Mr. Freed of
Sunderland. The bride was assisted by
Miss Thomas, and the groom by his
brother Mr. Adam Burgess. All looked
beautiful and happy as becoming the oc-
casion. The bride was the recipient of
many costly presents, some of rare beauty
which shows the respect with which they
are regarded by their many friends.
After the ceremony the guests were
treated to a grand feast consisting of all
the luxuries of the cook book. After this
most delightful exercise, the remainder
of the evening was spent in innocent
games and the "Mystic Maze," till
"morning day." It would take too much
space in your valuable paper to name
those present, suffice it to state that
three townships and as many towns were
represented by the near relatives and
friends who were favored. Prof. Dumont
did much to "chase the glowing hours,"
by rendering sweet music on his violin.
May the happy couple enjoy a long,
happy and prosperous partnership is the
universal wish of their friends.
