BOWMANVILLE. FASHIONABLE WEDDING.--The usual quiet of our town was somewhat broken last Wednesday afternoon by the occurance of one of those events which never fail to cause excitement-a wedding-the contracting parties being Mr. Alex. Boyd, bookkeeper in Gooderham & Worts, Toronto, and Miss Lizzie Climie, second daughter of Mr. W.R. Climie of this town, editor and proprietor of the Sun, and secretary-treasurer of the Canadian Press Association. The bride was arrayed in a very handsome gown of plain and brocade cream satin, with train and veil. Miss Lilly Boyd, sister of the groom, Miss Maggie Climie, sister of the bride, and little Clara Quick, were bridesmaids, and were costumed, the former in pale pink brocade silk, Miss Climie in cream with moss green plush trimmings, and little Miss Quick in cream with lace garniture. Messrs. James Chambers, of Toronto, J.S. Climie and Master Louis Quick supported the groom. The ceremony took place at "Sunrise," the residence of the bride's father, at exactly 6 o'clock, Rev. Magee Pratt, pastor of Trinity church, officiating. At its close over a hundred invited guests partook of the wedding supper. Friends were present from Montreal, Kingston, Cobourg, Port Hope, Colborne, Toronto, Hamilton, Chatham, Listowel and other parts both east and west. The bride has resided all her life in Bowmanville and is very popular. Her skill as a pianist is widely known, her services having been called into requisition at every musical event of note in town for years, and the cheerfulness with which these services have been accorded has endeared her to a very large circle of admiring friends. She was the recipient of many valuable and elegant presents, among which was a very handsome souvenir from Bowmanville Canton. They left on the night express for Chicago, followed by the best wishes of all for their happiness and prosperity.--Statesman.
