P.4, c.4

A pleasant event took place on Wednesday evening at the residence of Mr. R. Rutherford, on the outskirts of the village, when Miss Annie E., his eldest daughter, was married to Dr. J. W. Brien of Newark, N.J. About fifty guests assembled and witnessed the ceremony, which was performed by Rev. M. McKinnon, B.A. The bride, whof was attired very becomingly in a gown of white moire silk, with white roses as a bouquet, was attended by Miss Minnie Kerr of Manilla, while Miss Popsy Rutherford acted as maid of honor and Master Clare McArthur as page. The groom was attended by Mr. Walter B. Jordan. After the ceremony was performed a sumptuous repast was partaken of, and the remainder of the evening was spent in various forms of entertainment until daylight, when the happy couple drove to Lindsay to take the early train south on their way to their new home. The presents were numerous and very handsome. Among the guests were all the immediate relatives of both contracting parties, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Ellis, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Brandon, Mr. and Mrs. T. Austin, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Junkin, Mr. and Mrs. A. Clark Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Graham, Dr. and Mrs. Graham, Miss Thistlethwaite, Miss M. Jordan, Mr. C. W. Burgoyne and Mr. Joe Robson. In parting with Mrs. Brien, Fenelon Falls loses one of its most popular, pleasant and handsome young ladies, and the best wishes of the whole community go with her and her husband to their future home.
