- The Ontario government didn't hold back in dealing with the impacts of COVID-19, promising to spend $17 billion, increasing the provincial deficit from $6.4 billion to $20.5 billion.
This was part of the announcement made Wednesday, March 25, 2020 as $17 billion was spent on emergency aid to deal with the economic and health hardships brought by
the virus.
This included $7 billion in direct financial support for the province, and $10 billion in tax breaks and tax deferrals. - Publisher
