Description
Kawartha Lakes musician D. Artemis Chartier composed a song in appreciation of frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

YouTube video description:
"Let's applaud while our heroes shine, on the front lines." During the COVID-19 battle of 2020, we were moved to express admiration for front line workers, who support the well-being of others despite personal risks. Here in Kawartha Lakes, my husband and I set out to appreciate as many of the the paramedics, ambulance drivers, firefighters, police officers, sanitation workers, truckers, pharmacists, health care workers, on-line clergy, hospital teams, government leaders, and medical advisors as possible in one song. We invited other civilians to join us ( from a safe distance :) in the video, to help convey the huge gratitude that we all feel. We salute those whose courage deserves recognition. The rest of us staying home and social-distancing are important gestures, too. But, as often as possible, let's do what we can to also thank those out there giving so much.

Written, filmed and produced by local resident Artemis Chartier and her husband, this song and video capture the community spirit and support we continue to see throughout Kawartha Lakes. As the chorus goes, "Let's applaud while our heroes shine, on the front lines."
