- The City shared an infographic of what businesses were able to re-open under strict safety guidelines as of May 4, 2020.
Businesses and services allowed to re-open included landscaping, garden centres/nurseries (curbside pick-up and delivery only) and community gardens; construction projects; car washes (automatic and self-serve) & auto dealerships (by appointment only); golf courses (could prepare their courses, but not open to the public); and marinas (could prepare for the boating season but not open to the public.) - Inscriptions
- FIRST STAGE OF RE-OPENING
The province allows for certain businesses to re-open under strict safety guidelines, as of May 4.
LANDSCAPING, GARDEN CENTRES AND COMMUNITY GARDENS
Garden centres and nurseries with curbside pick-up and delivery only. See the Health Unit's website for guidelines for community gardens. www.hkpr.on.ca
CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Including shipping and logistics, broadband, telecommunications, and digital infrastructure, any other project that supports improved delivery of goods and services, municipal projects, colleges and universities, child care centres and schools. Site preparation, excavation, and servicing for institutional, commercial, industrial and residential development.
CAR WASHES & DEALERS
Automatic and self-serve car washes. Auto dealerships, open by appointment only.
GOLF COURSES
Golf courses may prepare their courses for the upcoming season, but not open to the public.
MARINAS
Marinas may also begin preparations for the recreational boating season by servicing boats and other watercraft and placing boats in the water, but not open to the public. Boats and watercraft must be secured to a dock in the marina until public access is allowed.
