- Description
- The Mayor reported that grocery sales were down 40 per cent over a typical long weekend in the city due to the COVID-19 pandemic and warned residents that unless local businesses were used, the city would lose them.
With many businesses, restaurants and bars closed, there were fewer less choices and fewer options for the fewer seasonal residents. The city hoped that our proximity to the GTA would allow for day trippers to help bolster the economy with local provincial travel in place of international vacations given the pandemic. - Publisher
