Description
The Government of Ontario quietly passed legislation that allowed virtual witnessing of wills and powers of attorney. Witness requirements could be satisfied by audio and video technology.

The testator (will maker) and two witnesses (one of whom must be a lawyer or paralegal) connected on video. The two witnesses watch the will maker sign the document. That document was then sent to the first witness by courier (no digital signatures were allowed) who signed it on video before sending it on again by courier to the other witness. The other witness signs it on video (perhaps a Zoom call), watched by the other witnesses.
