- July 7, 2020 marked the first day since March that no COVID-19 deaths were reported in Ontario. It had been 105 days since that happened on March 23, a week after the provincial state of emergency was declared.
In early May, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, there were 94 deaths in a single day.
As of 5:00 pm on July 6, 2020, there had been 37,984 confirmed or probable cases of COVID-19 since March.
There remained 118 people in hospital due to COVID-19 - 36 of whom were in intensive care units and 21 on ventilators. - Publisher
