- The Mayor focused a good portion of his weekly press scrum on addressing the issue of the city's pandemic-inspired $2.5 million operating deficit and just how that deficit might be dealt with.
He was hopeful that after the province would offer matching funds after a recent announcement of federal funding for municipalities, but insisted that any monies received would be used to assist in re-opening Kawartha Lakes over the next few years, that the recovery would take a year or a couple of years, and that the City would find a way to break even this year [2020]. - Publisher
