- Ferguson founded "You've Got a Friend", a six-month pilot program to feed young families during the pandemic. With 20 volunteers, the program offered 1 hot meal per month to participants.
According to Kawartha Lakes Food Source Community Engagement Coordinator Dorotheou, the number of people visiting food banks during summer 2020 dropped significantly with the various government aid programs that were offered. With changes to those programs in fall 2020, the numbers climbed back up to about 1000 people per month as of October 2020. - Publisher
