Teachers Receive Instruction From Province Today For Online Learning Protocols Set To Begin Monday | Kawartha 411 KAWARTHA LAKES-Some cocal teachers have just today received information from the province around the online learning protocols set to begin on Monday. Earlier this month the Ontario government announced a province wide lockdown beginning December 26th and ending January 28th for our area. It also shutdown in class learning locally until at least January 11, although many believe that will be extended. Elementary students will be required to learn online for at minimum one week. We have learned elementary teachers will be required to provide kindergarten students with 180 minutes of instructional time and 225 minutes for grade 1. It's unclear about the other grades. Sources say this does not mean that students are required to be in front of a screen for this amount of time, but teachers must be available. During this time they could be running small groups, whole groups, asynchronous learning and playgroups etc. This is a developing story and more will come as we learn new details. &nbspphoto credit: shixart1985 Child drawing with colorful pencils. via photopin (license) Kindergarten Teachers Receive Instruction From Province Today For Online Learning... https://www.kawartha411.ca/2020/12/31/teachers-receive-instruction-fr... 1 of 2 1/4/2021, 12:33 PM
