To date, the Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit has reported 17 outbreaks in long term care homes. Since the new-year began numbers have been climbing. On January 8,  Fenelon Court reported an outbreak and on January 9, Caressant Care, Maclaughlin also reported it's outbreak. Since the pandemic began, the health unit has declared 30 outbreaks in various settings such as schools, workplaces and congregate settings. Today, health officials reported two new cases of Coronavirus in Kawartha Lakes.
