- Description
- Possible future changes with respect to COVID-19 data reporting at the local level was anticipated after the local health unit sent a request forward to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
Part of the concern about detailing cases down to community levels instead of county levels was that in those smaller community areas, there is potential to easily identify those people with COVID and stigmatize them.
Another part of the concern in revealing this detailed information was that it would change people's behaviour and citizens would become lax in protecting themselves. - Publisher
