- As the number of COVID-19 cases continue is accumulate, influenza or the flu seemed oddly absent.
Marianne Rock (the local health unit) and Patti Fitzgerald (Peterborough Public Health) explained why this was the case.
Efforts to reduce COVID-19 and control exposure (such as regular hand washing, social distancing, wearing masks, not going to work while sick, and getting the annual flu shot) all contributed to no cases of the flu or lab-confirmed influenza outbreaks in either health region.
So why no flu but plenty of COVID-19? Because COVID-19 spread more easily than the flu. - Publisher
