Officials say the facility, which is home to just over 160 residents, also got to enjoy a sweet treat (courtesy of Itty Bitty Bites) to celebrate the moment. The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District (HKPR) Health Unit received the first shipment of vaccines for the region on January 25 and has been working to administer doses to all LTC homes in the area. Dr. Ian Gemmill, acting Medical Officer of Health for HKPR, announced last Wednesday that they are expecting to finish all priority immunizations within the next month and once complete, will begin to plan for the second phase of vaccinations.
