Public Health Ontario (PHO)is reporting five deaths. Three are over 60 years of age. Their vaccination status was not made public. The elderly are far more likely to become hospitalized and die from covid according to statistics from PHO. The hospitalization rate of those 90 plus is 10.6%, 80-89 years is 9.2%, ages 40-60 is 3.5% hospitalization rate and under 20 is less than 1%. The death rates follow a similar pattern. The death rate is those 90 plus is 2.3% compared to those under 60 years which is .1%.
