Kiwanis International
Moynes joined the Kiwanis Club in 1922. He served as President in 1930, and was elected Lieutenant Governor of the Ontario-Quebec-Maritime District of Kiwanis International for the year 1945. During his years of service, the Club accomplished many great acts of service for the community, including but not limited to:
- large financial contributions to the Ross Memorial Hospital, including the purchase of an ambulance in 1929, fundraising drive to build a maternity wing, and donations for operating rooms and other departments
- the building of a new indoor skating rink on Russell Street West (and again when this one burned down)
- eyeglasses for boys and girls
- tuition for students in need at Lindsay Business College
- the Kiwanis Music Festival
- donations to the Academy Theatre
In 1972, Moynes was awarded a pin for 48 years of perfect attendance and a plaque for outstanding service.
On the Main Street - 1969 Details
For 40 years Ford Moynes served as Editor of the Kiwanis Club's weekly bulletin, writing well over 2000 issues. He was honoured with a plaque upon his retirement from the position in 1969. The inscription on the plaque read “Presented to Past Lt. Governor Ford W. Moynes for outstanding leadership as bulletin editor and for faithful service to his club” dated at Lindsay 1969.

On the Main Street - September 1971 Details
Freemasonry
Ford Moynes was initiated into the Faithful Brethren Lodge on August 16, 1912. He held the position of Worshipful Master in 1918. On October 9, 1962, he received a 50 Year Mason jewell, and on February 13, 1968, at a meeting referred to as "Ford Moynes Night," he received a 50 Year Past Master gold button.
In September 1971, at a session of the Members of the Fellow Craft Degree, the Lodge presented Ford Moynes with a Masonic Jewell. (Pictured right.)

Moynes was a member and ardent supporter of the Victoria County Historical Society frequently writing about their events.
