Private Clinton Tye Walker was born on October 21, 1887 in Haysville, Wilmot Township, Ontario. He was the son of Henry Walker and Frances Puddicombe Tye.

He enlisted on April 22, 1916 in Galt with the 111th Battalion. At the time of his enlistment, he was a farmer, single and a member of the Church of England. His regimental service number was 730777.

Overseas, he served with the 7th Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps. He was killed in action at the Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 9, 1917.

He is buried in the Bois-Carre British Cemetery in Thelus, France.

Walker, Clinton Tye


Enlisted April 22, 1916 with Machine Gun Section of 111th Battalion. Transferred to 7th Canadian Machine Gun Section.


Born at Haysville, October 21, 1887.

Educated at rural school and spent two years at Ontario Agricultural College with Class 1912.

For five years he was assistant seed inspector for the Department of Agriculture, Ottawa.


He went overseas September 22, 1916, trained at Crowborough Camp, Sussex.

Went to France February 7, 1917 and fell in action at Vimy Ridge April 9, 1917.

His father, Mr. H. Walker, lives at R.R.No 2 New Hamburg, Ontario.
