Messrs Hudspeth and Wood the two candidates for the representa- tion of Soutli Victoria in the Local Legislature entered the lists in ernest on Tuesday, last that being nom- ination day. The result of the first round may be rather slim ground on which to predicate the result of the fight, still poor Wood was thrown so heavily in the first ter that it was generally admitted that he had- no chance. And far as the oye could reach over this handsome 800 acre farm, the waving oreps hastening to ma- turity told a pleasing tale of progress and plenty, as the unfailing rewards of intelligent industry.
