The Twelfth of July "This year the Loyal Orange Lodge for this district held its annual parade at Lindsay, and there was a very large attendance. Port Perry sent a large contingent of brethren and visi- tors, some 130 persons in all going from this town. There were about one hundred and thirty-five lodges represented in the parade, and it was well nigh impos- sible for a great many to get near the 'grand stand to hear the speaking, so great was the crowd. Miss Christian is a good teacher-a fact which has been recognized by many students, for she has large classes both in Port Perry and Uxbridge. Mr. Richer's productions on the violin were wonderfully brilliant. He bas unusual command of his instru- ment--a kind of magic that blends the the notes into a volume of tone that keeps his listeners expectant and eager to hear not the last note, but more and more of that splendid music. Little wonder that he was encored with a per- tency which would take no refusal. Going to Athens When people hear that Mr. 1. H. Follick, Principal of Port Perry High School, is leaving town, and is taking charge of the High School at Athens Ont., there are expressions of regret heard from all sides. Port Perry esteems Mr. Follick highly, and with very good reason-- for he has been a good citizen in every sense of the term. . His work in the school has been of the most satisfactory character. He had the goodwill and respect of all the scholars, and with the aid of his competent staff of teachers, brought the school to a high standard of efficiency--the showing at examina- tion periods being very gratifying. Naturally the attendance at such a school has been steadily on theincrease Port Perry High School has become popular, and has kept up the good name secured for it by its first princi- pal, Mr. D. McBride. Mr. Follick is a teacher first. All his energics were used in channels that would further the interests of "schol- ars and the school. Hes a capable musician and bis training of Port Perry Choral Union and the production' of Queeu Esther will long be remembered as an achievement of unusual merit. 2 Sr. 11 Gladys Gibbs 1st Class Nonoks At entertainments of all kinds, Mr. Follick was in demand, both as a sing- er and as ® leader of singers.
