Settlement may be made either by cash or note. Joseph Ward The late Joseph Ward was born in Yorkshire, Eng., 89 years ago, and came to Canada when he was 9 years {of age. On the arrival of the family |in Canada, work was secured in the I building of Yonge Street, and Joseph helped his father break stones. That was in the days when Toronto was called "Muddy York." After a while the family moved to the 9th con. of Pickering. where they bought a farm. When Joseph Ward was 27 years of age he married Elizabeth Way. Shortly after this be moved to Whitby and bought the brickyard. He made the brick for the County Jail. His next move was to the farm that he bought on the 12th con. of Reach, where he lived until his removal to Prince Albert some three or four years ago. Mr Ward was a successful farmer for many years, making a specialty of Cotswold sheep of which he was an importer and exporter.
