Harris expects to to leave for overseas in the near future Mr John McClintock has been spending a few days in Grimsby. Mr James Lucas addressed the Ep- worth League on Monday evening his subject being "The Function of Government." A dance was given at the Town Hall on Thursday evening in honor of Messrs H. Purdy, C. W. Jackson, and G. Bradley, who left on Friday morning for Ottawa where they will take up their dnties with the Division- al Signaller's Corps, in which they have enlisted. Mr Wm Ettey, florist, at Prince Albert, has purchased a Ford Car, and will have it fitted for delivering his plants this season. The Ford should be of great service to Mr Ettey who has a fine lot of plants to sell this season. Miss DeFoe gave an address at the Young People's Guild in the Presby- terian Church on Monday evening. Her subject was one of the Shake- sperian plays. Ten diplomas were presented to members of the Efficiency Class and five members of the Teacher Training Class received diplomas in the Metho- dist Church last Sunday morning. The Street Commissioner is busy on the job this Spring and Nature is more kindly this season than last, so that there is a possibility that our roads may be in much better shape this year. Dropped Toronto Globe The axe has fallen on the officers of the 182nd Battalion, no less than twenty of them being struck off the strength of the C. E. F., in orde that their number may be in proporti = © the strength of the unit. The 182nd will go overseas shortly in charge of a conducting officer, or, as rumor has it, as a part of the 208th Battalion. If the discarded officers : this unit de- cide to take advantage of the recent order from Ottawa, and go overseas as a separate draft of privates, they would make quite a respectable little party in size. The following officers of the 182nd Battalion revert in rank as follows for the purpose of proceeding with their unit overseas: Maj. J. Gray, to Captain. Capt A B Cockburn to Lieutenant Capt. W. G.
