Cafe Chantant This unique entertainment given By the Young people of the Enghsh Church, in the new Parish Hall, had had a touch of originality that was refreshing. It was well received by the patrons who filled the building to capacity and showed the possibilities to which their new possession could be adapted A varied program was given up- stairs consisting of vocal and instru- mental music, tableaux, and a sketch. Miss Bull and Mr Harris in Quaker costume made a hit in the duet 'Thee is to Blame." The tableaux "Rock of Ages", "Ruth and Naomi" each in two parts; Britannia in which Mrs W H Harris struck a splendid pose, and "The Allies" all of which were well done. The singing of Mr Stent, who has taken the church for the summer, was welcomed as a new voice amecng the vocalists. The sketch "A pair of Lunatics" was per- haps the most applauded number as rendered by Mr Stent and Mrs A M Roberts and really was a very clever piece of acting Down stairs the entertainment touched the heart through the stomach and pocket. The basement was divided into booths such as 'Japanese Tea Room", "Rebecca at the well" brought real lemonade from the cool depths, that's where the moderns have it on the ancient Hebrews. A FREE THINKER Waste Paper Persons who have waste" paper which they are willing to contribute to the Red Cross Society, are asked to have said paper delivered at the Armouries on or before Saturday, the 23rd day of June.
