BENTLEY, Jeweller, Port Perry. Farm Property Casualties Each week it becomes necessary to record some destruction in farm pro- perty caused by storms. .Many items escape us, They are not sufficient to make a stir in the community, but they are decidely inconvenient to the farmer whose property is damaged. For instance the lightning seemed to take a dislike to the hay fork track in Mr Wilmot Walker's barn recently. As avesult the rafter that held the track was ripped away and split to kindling, and 1t will be a difficult and expensive job to fix it. Curiously enough the wooden track in Mr R W Walker's barn has been injured too. It took five hours to build a scaffold to fix the broken part and one hour to do the fixing. Wednesday is an unlucky day for some this year, as there have been several storms on that day of the week and there is seldom a storm without some destruction of property. Mr Ralph Fitchett had the misfortune to lose his barn, his hay crop, his cutter, etc. There was soms insurance but Mr Fitchett's loss will be considerable Mr Alex Lee lost a thorough bred cow valued at $350., a couple of weeks ago. He was sitting at the window and saw the animal struck by the lightning. = The same storm blew down a large portion of his bush, On Monday night of this week Mr George Kilpatrick of Cedar Creek was the unfortunate one. . During the storm the lightning struck the chimney of his residence tearing it down and the same tine entering the house and scattering stove pipes and ashes about the house, "| Flint; Mich; and Mrs L. gregog, Man; Rev. of "Owasso, Mich. marie Jas.
