PURDY Mrs. George Stone On Sunday morning, February 17, 1918, Eliza Jane Wallace, beloved wife of Mr George Stone, passed over to the great beyond. She had been ill with neuritis for three and a half months, during which time she suffered wost intensely, but with marked Christian patience. She had on former occasions been attacked by the same disease and had owercome, and hope Was entertained that Shel would do so again, but this time dis ease triumphed, and the life "of Mrs Stone came quite early to a close. ™ Mrs Stone was born in. the Town- ; ship of Mdripesa, about fifty-six years ago, her father and mother, Mr and Mrs Silas Wallace, residing at. that time upon the farm. The married life of Mr and Mrs Stone began in 1881, and in 1883 they came to Port Perry, where they have continuously resided since that date, Mr Stone being an efficient teacher in the High School during these many years. This long period of residence brought Mrs Stome into the circle of many friends who will miss her much and deeply regret her early demise. Mrs Stone united with the Meth: odist church in her early girlhood, and remained one of its faithful mém- bers until called to the higher service. In the later years of her life because | of failing strength, she was unable to] actively engage in the work of the] church as she desired. Mrs Stone is survived by her hus- band, M: Geo Stone, and one son, Howard, both of Port Perry; and one sister, Mrs. Clark of Toronto.
