: .. Every boy why Hh the prove he was not on ; ig streets on Hallowe'en should} red with a share of the hes of the damage. done as the fellows who egg the rest on are often as much to blame as the bolder boys who do the actual damage. As long as the public smile tolerantly at the destfuction of property on Hallowe'en 'night,' the destruction will continue. When young folk are allowed to persistenly run the streets at night it is not surprising that things reach a climax when all the witches run loose. When parents allow their chil- dren to speak disparagingly of those in authorify, and when there same parents poke fun at attempts to enforce the low, we need not wonder that a lawless spirit prevails among undevelop- ed young folk. Roughness of conduct is often greater in a small community, roughness that would be be- neath the dignity of properly, trained young people. Seagrave The Hallowen Masquerade party on Monday night proved a decided success. The costumes were hard ;to beat, we did not know we had any witches in Seagrave, but there was one at the party and she did her part the very best, and also the fat wemon have become quite pop- ular. We have also a clown and a chinaman, I think we will not; laundry in the near future, also the parsonage must be haunted for we had a ghost there. The judges did their part well in pic- king out the best costumes, but it is some, task trying to figure out who-is the best, when you have about +75 to choose from, the 'parsonage was beautifully decorated with jack lanterns.
