It is pleasing to note that the two police cells have been turned into ome, and are in whole- some condition. The addition of a sink and running water in-the base- ment is a fine move. el DOD es STANDING UP WELL The cement road in Port Perry seems to have come through the winter well. Br publie affairs. He was a member of the Manvers Council and' Deputy- three years. His chief interest was in the church, and he was Superin- tendent of the Sunday School where he resided for twenty-five years or more. At the time of his removal to Reach Township, the Lotus Church people made a presentation to him, {and in the address the following paragraph occurs which indicates the esteem in which he was held by his fellow church members: "All members and adherants of the congregation with which you and your family have worshipped and labored for 'the religious interests of the community, we desire to express our appreciation of your valued ser- vices. You did not hesitate, even when others faltered, to give freely of your means and time, and influence as well, to promote the spiritual life and interests of the people. = Your untiring loyalty and effort were of our commodious church village of Lotus. We sought to do you honor in selecting you to present the church to be dedicated as a place of worship. These things, together with the assistance always cheerfully rendered by Mrs. Bruce and daughters both in the social life and choir of the church, have 'endeared you as a family to us." Mr, Bruce's life was helpful in every way, and those who were priv- ileged to know him well will sincerely mourn the death of their friend. Mr. Bruce is survived by his widow and four children--Mrs, Frank Wat- son, Seagrave; Mrs. W. W. Holtby, Manchester; Mr. Alvin Bruce, on the homestead at Seagrave; and Miss Effie Bruce at home, To them is ex- tended the sympathy of the com- munity in their bereavement. i ANCONA EGGS Eggs for hatching from . heavy winter producing hens. $1.00 per 156.
