Fenwick, Toronto, was holidaying in the Village last 'week: Mrs. Hutton, who spent several weeks with her brother, Mr. Arthur Woodley, has returned to her home in Toronto. GREENBANK August 4th was the 11th anniver- sary of the beginning of the Great War. "Tempus fugit." Rev, James A. Miller, and wife and family are living in Rev. Mr. Dyer's house while the latter is on his holi- days. Mr, Miller is preaching in the United Church for three Sundays. Last Sunday was his first. The Garden Party of August 4th, held on the Ufiited Church lawn, 'was a success. The ladies heaped the ta- bles with good things, and Mr, Wil- son kept up his reputation as a dis- tributor of food for thought. One of the most pathetic and most memor- able stories he told was af the chauffeur who "run over himself." Miss Irene Spoffard returned home on Friday night, after having attended a five weeks' course in the Agricultural College, Guelph. Mr. and Mrs. Everett Watson were visited on Sunday by MF. Watson's father and mother, of Goodwood. Miss Rook is visiting Mr, and Mrs. Wm. Phoenix. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Scott, of De- troit, visited Mr. and Mrs. Amos Rodd on Sunday. As a boy, Mr, Scott was formerly a resident of this community. Remember the Special Services which are being held in the Baptist Church, beginning on August 23rd. Mr. Pady will be here from August 23 to August 28 every evening.
