Miss Burry arrived from New- loundland on Thursday last and spent the week end with her sister, Mrs. Weir, at the parsonage, Miss Burry is an investigatot for the Mothers' Allowance. Her dis- triet includes the counties of Prince tidward, Hastings, Durham and Nor- thumberland, - She has been on leave while visiting at her home in New-{ foundland and resumes her duties this week, The young folks and others who made the trip to Enniskillen on Fri- day evening last, when the play Aunt Susan's Visit, was given there, had a very pleasant time. 'Ihe weatherman did take notice and provide weather with which one could not very well complain. A good and sympathetic audience greeted Aunt Susan and her company and an enjoyable lunch was served after the performance. Hospita'-(or cick Ghiidren 67 College st, Tort 2, Ont. Chitistmas: 1926. Dear Mr Kditor:-- This is the fififeth year -the semi: centennial of the Hospital for Sick Children It is the Golden Anniver sary of an institution which started out in 1876 with a six-bed equip: ment to cure children medically of their lnesses and to rid them sur "giéally "of their disabilities. Fifty years nave passed and the tiny hos- pital has grown into one of the greatest institutions of its kind in the whole world. The people of this province de manded this service -- and they have made it possible by their Christmas ~ Time gifts. They are rewarded by the knowledge that thousands of Ontario children will grow 'up into manhood or woman- hood blessing the "little blue cots" wherein they were restored and strengthened to play 2 full part in the battle of life. v To win back health for six thou. sand boys and girls was the measure of the Hospital's ward-service alone this year.- Besides that there were over half a: hundred thousand .at.i |: tendances in the Out-Patient Depart. | ment, where the less serious cases are treated. All this costs a "great deal of money, even though the doc: | tors give freely of their skill and the nurses of their cargy: There is board and lodging and laundry to 'be provided, besides the best that can .| be procured, in the way of all the medical and surgical supplies re- quired to treat 'the myrial aflments and accidents: to which children ar, Tn order to maintain its high | standard of efficiency and also to. |' vie with a new Congoleum Rug We are offering for wl some of our best patterns: © Size 21% x 8 yards, Regular $11.25 for $9.95.
