Dorothy Davey passed her Primary Pianoforte with honors. About one hundred ladies and gentlemen were present and they all enjoyed themselves thoroughly. Not only was the banquet all that could be desir- ed, but the program and good fellowship which followed rounded out a most pleasant social evening. This Ladies' Bible Class has been steadily growing under the Presidency of Miss Gertrude Stovin, until the membership is sixty. - Mrs. W. A. Christy is the highly esteemed teacher. Rev. A. E. and Mrs. McCutch- eon, of Cannington were out of town guests at the banquet, and Mr. McCutcheon gave a most in- spiring and helpful address. Re .--.--.-- ; LAID TO REST In the passing of Charles A.| Rundle, Port Perry ldst one of its esteemed citizens and busi- ness-men: He was born in Sonya, the youngest son of the late Mr. rs, W. H. Rundle. ; About 22 Years ago he came to Port Perry and laid the foundation for a successful, re- presentative, implement busi- ness, For about two years he carried on business with con- siderable success. During the summer of 1906 he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Irwin of Reach Township. In the sane year, leaving his busi- ness in charge of his: brother Frank, he entered Chatham Business College. Upon graduation, he accepted a position with the DeLaval Separator Co., as travelling salesman, and travelled in the Maritime Provinces and New- foundland with headquarters av Moncton, N.B., for a period of three years. He then returned to his business and carried it on until his recent death. During his long residence in Port Perry his active life, good business mind, and cheerful dis- position constantly led him into new friendships. He was a member of the town council for a period of two years, at the conclusion of which he was tendered and accepted the Reeveship. During his term of office, he was active in every movement for the betterment of | the town. He devoted a great deal of time toward several civic improvements, especially good road construction which bore fruit later on. Also the Hydro enterprise which was construct- ed during his term of office as Reeve. He was-a member of Fidelity & AM. and was with full Masonic honors. As the Rev. Wm. Higgs was unable' to officiate, Rev. J. E. Griffith of Blackstock conducted a very impressive service. The large number of floral tributes was an expression of the appre- ciation of the deceased.
